On Sunday, 9 November 2008, the Panepirotic Federation of Australia participated in the annual Thessaloniki-Melbourne Glendi at Federation Square, Melbourne, to celebrate the sister-city relationship between these two cities. The Festival is organised by the Thessaloniki Association "The White Tower" and the City of Melbourne. The Master of Ceremonies was Panepirotic Federation Secretary, Kostas Kalymnios.
The Festival was attended by State Member of Parliament John Pandazopoulos, representing the Premier of Victoria, Mr John Brumby, the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Ted Baillieu, Deputy Lord Mayor Gary Singer, representing the Lord Mayor of Melbourne John So, Member for Bulleen Nicholas Kotsiras, Fiona Richardson MP and other dignitaries. Also present was visiting Prefect ofThessaloniki Mr Panagiotis Psomiadis, who enthralled the crowd withhis signing and a delegation of councillors from the City of Thessaloniki.
